Yup! We are gonna start at the Brain. In our introductory post, we have mentioned about a conscious living- and to best understand and practice this, we have to dig into a quick anatomy class.

The brain is made up of different lobes as per their placement. The frontal lobe is responsible for movement, coordination, and information. This part of the brain is associated with problem-solving, reasoning, and planning. The Parietal lobe, located on the top of our head, is important for sensory information, receiving stimuli, and perception. At the very back, we have the Occipital Lobe, which mainly processes vision and helps us see. At the sides, where our ears are located, we have the Temporal lobe, which is important for our hearing.

Yeah, no more lobes- we good lol.

Now that we know some terms and definitions of the parts of the brain, it is time for “Brain” Blowing Facts. (yeah I really did say that- chile, cut some slack!)

  1. Thoughts are real! Our thoughts cause biological and physiological effects to which our body responds to mental input as if it were physically real.

  2. Studies have proven that listening to music strengthens the brain and literally changes structure.

  3. You have an average of 70,000 thoughts per day!

  4. The conscious mind controls our brain only 5% of the day, whereas the subconscious mind has a hold of our thoughts 95 % of the time.

  5. When intoxicated, the brain cannot form memories!

  6. Short term memory can only store 7 pieces of info for 20 seconds.

  7. Your brain recognizes your touch, so you can’t tickle yourself.

  8. Dreaming required more brain activity than any waking function.

  9. Your brain cannot feel pain; a headache involves nerves and muscles in your head.

  10. Everything your mind says has an equivalent reaction from the cells in your body!
